HISTORY

Back Creek White Dorpers was formed in autumn 2000 with the purchase of 80 embryos from Africa. These were Dries Weis and Leon Snyman blood and formed the basis of our stud. Bloodlines we have added to the stud include Peet Cilliers and Floors Brand. These came from Christo Harmse, a South African whose animals we have been running in a sharefarming agreement which has now concluded.

More recent bloodlines added have been Edson 379 from South Australia, who was judged Supreme White Dorper exhibit at the 2006 National Show. He has been a huge boost to the stud adding length and muscle to the animals. Additionally his prodgeny have given us great show success, of note a daughter winning Reserve Junior Champion Ewe at the National Show. Red Rock Z02 was purchased at the 2005 National Sale and his first lambs are on the ground looking very promising.
Embryo transfer has been used for the past five years to increase herd size and quality to 200 breeding females.
We have been happy with the progress that our breeding program has made, especially in their ability to perform in our environment.
2006 saw our first team showing at the National Show in Dubbo in May, which was rewarded greatly with a number of class winners and broad ribbons.

This led onto our first on property sale in September, at which we sold 49 rams with a 100% clearance.
